COMMUNITY STANDARDS

Last Updated: January 16, 2026

These Community Standards apply to all use of Variant’s Services and all content and conduct that occurs through the Services, including games and experiences you publish, assets and mechanics you generate or upload, comments, group posts, and group chat messages. These Community Standards are intended to keep the Services safe, lawful, and welcoming, and they work alongside Variant’s Terms of Service.

Variant is a creative platform. We encourage experimentation, critique of games and mechanics, and thoughtful feedback. We do not allow content or behavior that puts people at risk, targets people for who they are, exploits minors, violates the law, or abuses the Services.

Be respectful and don’t harass others. You may not bully, harass, stalk, intimidate, or threaten anyone. You may not direct hateful or degrading comments at a person or group. You may not encourage others to pile on, brigade, or target someone, whether on the Services or elsewhere. You may not engage in sexual harassment or unwanted sexualized remarks. If someone asks you to stop, stop.

No hate or discrimination. You may not post content that promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against individuals or groups based on protected characteristics such as race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or similar status. This includes slurs, dehumanizing language, extremist propaganda, and content praising or supporting hate groups.

Protect children and minors. The Services are not for children under the minimum age stated in the Terms of Service. You may not attempt to contact, groom, exploit, or sexualize minors. You may not request personal information from minors or encourage them to move conversations off-platform. You may not upload, post, transmit, or otherwise make available photos, videos, likenesses, or identifying information of children or minors, including images of yourself as a minor. Any content that depicts or facilitates child sexual exploitation is strictly prohibited and may be reported to law enforcement.

No sexual content that is explicit or exploitative. You may not post pornography, explicit sexual content, or content intended for sexual gratification. You may not post non-consensual intimate imagery, sexual extortion content, or content that encourages sexual exploitation. Sexual content involving minors is prohibited under all circumstances.

No violence, threats, or instructions to harm. You may not threaten violence or encourage others to harm a person, group, or property. You may not post content that depicts extreme gore or graphic violence intended to shock or glorify harm. You may not post instructions for committing violent wrongdoing or facilitating real-world harm.

No self-harm encouragement. You may not encourage, glorify, or provide instructions for suicide, self-harm, or eating-disorder behaviors. If you see content that suggests imminent self-harm risk, use the reporting tools.

No illegal activity. You may not use the Services to facilitate illegal activity, including theft, fraud, trafficking, or evasion of law enforcement. You may not use the Services to promote or sell illegal drugs or controlled substances. You may not post instructions for committing crimes or evading safety controls.

Respect privacy and personal data. You may not share personal information about yourself or others in a way that creates risk, including phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, government identifiers, financial information, precise location, or private communications. You may not dox anyone or threaten to dox them. You may not solicit personal data from other users. You should avoid including personal data in prompts or content you publish.

No impersonation or deception that harms others. You may not impersonate another person or organization in a misleading or harmful way. You may not falsely claim affiliation with Variant or present user-created content as officially endorsed by Variant. You may not run scams, phishing attempts, or deceptive schemes through comments, groups, or chat.

Respect intellectual property and rights of others. Only upload, generate, or publish content you have the right to use. You may not upload copyrighted art, music, video, code, characters, trademarks, or other protected material without permission or a valid license. You may not submit prompts or materials intended to recreate proprietary assets in a way that violates others’ rights. If you share screenshots or videos outside the Services, you remain responsible for having all necessary rights for what you share.

No malware, exploits, or platform abuse. You may not upload malware or attempt to compromise accounts, devices, or the Services. You may not probe, scan, reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to bypass safety systems, moderation, or access controls. You may not create accounts to evade enforcement actions. You may not use automated tools to spam, mass message, or manipulate rankings or engagement.

No spam or disruption. You may not flood comments or chats, repeatedly post the same content, or use the Services primarily for solicitation. You may not organize groups or chats for harassment, hate, scams, or coordinated abuse.

Content quality and labeling. Do not mislead others about what your game or assets contain. Do not use deceptive titles, thumbnails, tags, or descriptions. If your game includes sensitive themes, label and present them responsibly where the Services provide tools to do so.

Reporting and moderation. The Services include tools to report users, games, comments, groups, and chat messages. Use these tools in good faith. Variant may review content using a combination of automated systems and human moderation. Variant may remove content, restrict features, suspend groups, limit chat, or suspend or terminate accounts when we believe these Community Standards or the Terms of Service have been violated, or when necessary to protect users or the Services. Variant may preserve information and cooperate with lawful requests, including where child safety is implicated.

Appeals and questions. Where Variant offers an appeal process, you may submit an appeal through the designated support channel. Variant may uphold, modify, or reverse an enforcement decision based on the information available and the need to keep the Services safe.

Variant may update these Community Standards to address emerging risks, new features, or changes in law or platform requirements. Continued use of the Services after updates means you agree to comply with the updated Community Standards.
